Bernie Sanders, for staying true to his socialist principles and bringing two million voters into the Democratic Primaries without whom Biden and Harris would not have won election
Jacob Blake, Justin Blake, Tanya McLean, Gregory Bennett Jr. andJames Burke who turned out the vote in Kenosha to help win Wisconsin and all the Black, Labor, women’s and human rights groups who turned out the vote in Michigan and Pennsylvania because they believed in defeating Trump and defunding the police
Mónica García, for her leadership in introducing a motion to cut the LA School Police budget by 50%, working with board members Kelly Gonez, Nick Melvoin, Jackie Goldberg to pass the motion for a 35% cut, and working closely with Movement Groups—Black Lives Matter L.A., Students Deserve, UTLA, BSS, Inner City Struggle, and the Labor/Community Strategy Center—to deliver the victory
Channing Martinez, for running a path breaking campaign for City Council in Los Angeles’ 10th district, running as a Black, Garifuna, Queer, climate justice revolutionary organizer calling for No Police in the LA Schools, Cutting the LAPD budget by 50% and demanding that 50% of all new public and private service jobs go to Black applicants
It will take this broad united front to continue to stand up against the racist right and truly fight for Black, Latinx, and Indigenous Liberation and an end to U.S. involvement in the internal affairs of Third World nations.
