Fight Transit Racism This Thursday 8:30am at One Gateway Plaza
We Urgently Need Your Attendance
This Thursday will be an important milestone in the work of the Bus Riders Union. From a 20 year fight for a 1st Class Bus System to seeing the MTA moving in our direction with a study of Free Public Transportation thanks to conversations with Phil Washington. In times of tremendius opporuntiy we need tremendous optimism and organizing to make sure to not just study victory, but make sure it happens. We’re also calling on the MTA to double bus service, reject the NextGen 20% Bus Service Cut, and end its attacks on Black Passengers by ending the Police State on Metro Buses and Trains.
We’ll have a great line up of speakers including Channing Martinez Director of Organizng, Barbara Lott Hollan Associate Director, Eric Mann, Director, Brigette Amaya Lead Organizer, David Turner from the Brothers Sons Selves Coaltion, Joseph Williams from Students Deserve and others. We’ll have drums to participate in druming and chanting. And you can’t have a great event without great DJing. You’ll be able to submit a written public comment at the rally and we’ll surround ourselves with large beautiful banners.
Face Masks required, We’ll have hand sanitizer, water, BRU Shirts, and a lot of space or social distancing.
